I love being an Aunt......continued
Yesterday, I got a call from Lindsay, and she asked me if I would take her and Parker to Jumping Jacks. Now that she has my number written down, she calls me all the time. I don't mind, its funny how she leaves me messages on voice mail.
I let her know that I was getting my hair cut but I would take them after I was done. When I left the salon, I missed 4 calls from Lindsay.
I got to the house Mandy helped me get them ready, and we were off to Jumping Jacks with socks of course. It is normally a really fun place to take their kids, so much for them to keep busy with and its a nice place to go when its hot outside. But after we paid they tell us that 2 of their 3 air units were down, and its a "little" hot in there. The kids were able to play, they just took more breaks than normal.
After that Ash and I took them to Sonic and got them a smoothie. When we got back to their house, little Carter helped me finish mine. OH, and I can't forget.....Carter let me hold him and he played outside with me for a while. He is shy little guy, and only likes mommy and daddy, but he opened up yesterday and it was fun. I have some adorable nieces and nephews!
I love being an Aunt!!
Last weekend, my brother Bubba and his family came up to St. George to spend the weekend with us. Since they have moved back to Overton, we have missed them so much. It went from being just across the parking lot to being about 100 miles away.
We had a lot of fun. They brought their new puppy Willie, and we were not sure if him and Dukey would get a long, but they ended up being good buddies. I think I was more nervous than anyone else.
On Saturday Bubba and Paola took the kids to Fiesta Fun, and when they came back, Jacob's eye was black and half of his face was swollen. They had taken him and Emma miniature golfing and he tripped and fell on his face, poor guy did not know it was that bad until he came home and saw his face in the mirror.
On Sunday Bubba made us dinner on the BBQ, and the weather was so nice, that we were able to sit outside and eat.
We miss them so much. Here are some pics from that weekend:

Remembering 9/11
Everyone remembers where they were on this day. I remember I was up early folding laundry, getting Ashley, Fernando, and Bubba up for school. I was watching the Today show as my normal weekday routine. I just sat there in shock, and did not know how I was going to explain all this to Ashley (who was 10 years old at the time).
I was living in Overton, and worked part time at the local library. I went to work, but the day seemed to stand still and it was very hard to be anywhere but home.
I remember my good friend Reyanna's mom had made a ton of pins with yellow ribbons and the red, white and blue stripe on it. Then they took all those pins and just passed them out to everyone at the local grocery store. I wore that pin for a long time. Thank you Reida!
Even thought it's been 7 years, it is still hard to remember what happened that day and all the lives it effected.
I think this is the one of the best pictures from the tragedy. I believe it sums up in one picture that America will make it through anything.

My second home
I love my job! It can be very stressful, but I love the people I work with. They are my second family and I am honored to spend the work week with them. Whenever I get stressed or overwhelmed, I just look back to my old jobs that I hated, and it makes this one the best I have ever had (I hated working at Old Navy)!
I am blessed to have a great job! An amazing boss, and a wonderful work family. The brand new building helps too ;)

About Me...
I am a proud guardian of my baby sister, Ashely. She is 16 (almost 17), and a junior at Dixie High School right now. I am happily married to David Andrew, and we just had our 3 year anniversary.
I moved to Utah to be close to my family, and love every minute of it. My brother Bubba, and his family recently moved back to Overton and we miss them so much. My sister Mandy, and her 4 kids live in St. George, and we get to spend a lot of time with them, and my other brother Fernando (Doz) just moved back from West Virginia, we are glad to have him back.
I have this cousin (Vanessa) that is like a sister to me, so I think I should include her. We spend a lot of time together, but it seems to work, oh and I love her to pieces. Thank goodness!
I will do my best to keep my blog updated. Thank you for stopping by! :)
