Staheli Farm

Halloween is this week and I am so excited for Brooklyn. She has been practicing saying "Halloween" and "Trick or Treat".

Last weekend we wanted to try Staheli Farms. We had a great coupon and thought it would be fun for the kids. Even though we got there pretty early it was warm for a fall day, Dave and Mandy both ended up with a sunburn. I didn't love the farm, but the kids did.

Now we paid extra to try out the corn maze. When we got there I saw another family just getting out and I asked them how it was. They said "we had to cheat, it's way elaborate". All I could think was is Brooklyn, Penelope and Allie going to like this?

So we split up the boys and girls and decided who ever gets to the exit first wins. It was so warm but we made it through and the girls won! Honestly we didn't even know we had won and thought we ended up back at the entrance.

Here are the girls strategizing before we begin:
And every time we stopped to decide what direction we were going in, Brooky would sit down and play in the sand. She also called the corn bananas.

Penelope stayed close by, she always wanted someone holding her hand.
By the time the boys found us the babies were so tired. As you can see Brooklyn just wanted to hang there for a little bit.

When we got back to the farm we still had the pumpkin patch to go to, but we had two tired babies. So Dave, Brooklyn, Penelope and I went home. They were both asleep before we got out of the parking lot.

Dear Mom & Dad!

Hi Mom & Dad,

I hope you are having fun in the Dominican Republic. Aunt Katie told me it was by the ocean and I told her we have an ocean at our house.

The wedding was so fun. Mom you looked so pretty and dad looked pretty handsome. I loved my dress, look at this picture cousin Nessa sent to Aunt Katie, isn't it funny?
I've been having fun hanging out with B. We have been getting along. On Sunday morning Aunt Katie and I woke up together and decided to make Mickey Mouse pancakes. She asked me to stir the batter I told her we have pancakes at our house.
They were yummy!
Later when Brookie woke up she had her pancake, and then we colored with crayons. I made a purple horsey, a pink horsey and a brown daddy horsey. I was so nice and shared the crayons with B.

After lunch we went to the park. Cousin Allie brought all her fun sand toys and shared them with me. Then it got really cold and started to rain on us, we had to leave really quick.

That night I got to have another sleep over with Aunt Ash in her room. Thankfully she likes Pingu too because I like to watch that a lot.

The next day when Aunt Katie got home from work we went to feed the ducks. Uncle Dave brought all the toast to give to the duckies. I kept telling the duckies to eat all our toast, but they just quacked at me. B just waved at the duckies.

That night after our bath B and I put on the same jammies and brushed our teeth. I showed B how to brush your teeth like a big girl. I think she just likes to eat the toothpaste.
I miss you guys so much and can't wait to see you. But I hope you guys are having fun. Take lots of pictures and bring me back something cool, maybe a horsey of my own.

Dixie Round-Up Parade

Saturday was a busy day for us. First thing in the morning we watched Jacob and Parker play football. Since they live in different areas they are on separate teams, but the good thing is their games were back to back. Jacob's team played Virgin Valley and won!!

But we were at the football field for three hours and Brooklyn thought was she was Spiderman and could scale the bleachers with no problems. She even had a small fall but kept going after that little scare.

The boys did great. I can't believe how much they learned since starting practice in the summer. I wasn't able to get a picture of Parker because I had to leave a little before his game ended but I got one of Jacob.

I'm excited because they both play separate times again this weekend and now Parker plays Virgin Valley. :)

After the game Brookie is out. She fell asleep in the car and then slept for two hours. While she slept Vanessa came over to visit, it was so nice to see her.

Then as soon as Brooklyn woke up it was time to get ready and head to the parade. Lindsay and Emma were in the parade with their dance company and they were going to be carrying the banner together. Emma was excited, Lindsay not so much. LOL

I was excited because this was the first parade Brooklyn really knew what was going on. She loved it, but she ran out in the road too much, I was chasing her a lot.

Uncle Allan helped me tame the cute little beast.

Here come the girls!

My little dancer!

It's been almost two months since I blogged? Wow, I guess summer went by pretty quick and I couldn't be more happy. We have had cloudy and rainy days for a couple weeks and I love it, it's been kind of a nice early transition to fall, although I know we do have a couple more days in the 90's. I'm just glad we are no longer in the triple digits, makes for beautiful evenings.

Since I last blogged we moved AGAIN, but we LOVE are new place so much. We have garage and a nice little fenced in back yard.

In the middle of moving we found out that Dave's older brother Lucas passed away. This was so hard on Dave, he was so sad that Luke didn't get a chance to meet Brooklyn and that makes me sad too. Dave loved Luke so much, he looked up to him and was always calling and checking on him. We weren't able to make it out for his memorial, but we are planning a trip to Minnesota after the new year. Dave would love for Brooklyn to see where he grew up.

Onto my blog title, we signed Brooklyn up for dance. I have been so excited about this for so long. When Allie was in this class last year, we mentioned that it would be cute if Penelope and Brookie could be in class with her the following year. So we did it and I was gushing all day. I was also worried, Brooklyn is the youngest in the class and I was worried that she was too young to pay attention and know what they were doing. But during her first class she did so well. I was so proud of her, and Ashley dressed her up so cute. Thankfully I am able to take an early lunch on dance days and I can go with her. I love seeing the three babies (not babies so much anymore) in this class together, they're adorable.

We have had dance classes four times now and each time we go Brooklyn gets more comfortable. She still doesn't like me to leave the room, but she knows what to do more and more. The only bad thing about her being more comfortable is that in the middle of a lesson she will yell "Mom" to one of the teachers and tell them she wants a toy out of their toy bin (in her own language of course), so she loses focus and wants to get toys out. Ugh, sorry dance teachers. I hope she doesn't do this every week.

They are already practicing their Christmas dance and they will have two performances, can't wait.

How did our babies go from this:

HAPPY DANCING!
