Dang you Fibroid!

Well if you don't remember I found out I had a fibroid when I was pregnant with Brooklyn and that is the reason I had to have a C-section when I had her. Dr. Lunt had said that he thought about trying to take it out during my C-section but he didn't want to risk anything. Normally fibroid shrink after the baby is born.

Fast forward 3 years later, I go to the ER for heavy bleeding. Turns out that little sucker is back and growing again. Great! The ER doc scared the crap out of me, but he referred me to Dr. Lunt for further care. I got in to see Dr. Lunt a couple days later and he gave me some options, but I had to have a biopsy first. After talking to him and seeing my options, he did say that I could have an MRI to see if I qualified for a procedure where they go through my leg and stop the blood supply to the Fibroid in an artery in my leg. The other option, a hysterectomy. My immediate reaction is to get the MRI and even after talking to family and friends they thought the same thing as well. I had to wait a week for the biopsy results, then once those cam back clear, I made an appoint for the MRI. I get the MRI and wait another week for those results. Well I finally get the call from my doctor's nurse saying I am NOT a candidate for this procedure and this leaves a hysterectomy.

I was a mess. I did not want to have surgery. I also always thought about having another baby, but I always had the fibroid in the back of my head. But getting this surgery meant no more kids at all. And it's SURGERY, I'm a little scared. Thankfully my doctor called me that night and answered a lot of my questions.

So this Monday I go in for surgery and get a hysterectomy, 2 months after the initial ER visit. I am beyond nervous and scared. Thankfully the hospital stay is only one night, but the recovery time is 6 weeks! I can do this right? I have such amazing support, we just need to get through it.

Life has been a little hectic. Brooklyn as been sick and even though I don't like her being sick, it has kept my mind off my own issues. She was having really bad tummy aches and it was causing her to get up in the middle of the night, grabbing her belly and crying. We took her to the doctor and he thinks she is just really "backed up". Tells us to give her Miralax and also a probiotic. But a day after seeing the doctor she woke up in the middle of night again crying. This was the longest she had cried about it, so we take her to the ER. After a sad night at the ER, he thinks its still her stomach, he gives her medicine for the pain in her tummy and tells us to follow up with a specialist if she doesn't get better. Thankfully she got better, but then followed that with a really bad cold. But today we are good!!
Being such a big girl at the doctor.

While we waited for her results to come back while in the ER, a sweet nurse gave her some toys and offered to let us pull her around in the wagon. She loved it, but was so tired she fell asleep.

She is so funny. She is talking so much, but she also gives us the biggest attitude. I think 3 might be a little more of a struggle than the "Terrible 2's". Here is just a little update on her:

When you ask her a question and the answer is no, she replies "No, not".
She is OBSESSED with Play-Doh. She always wants to play with it, and I always have to clean it up. :)
Allie is at our house 4 days a week since Ash watches her. If she isn't there Brooklyn is so sad and she will cry. "Me just want my best friend".
She is so curious about her new cousin in Kristin's belly. She puts a baby under her shirt all the time.
She loves to do her own make-up and is quite the artist.
She likes to save her own money for the carousel. "Mommy, this is my horsey money".
I feel like I need to update every month because she is growing and changing so much. After my surgery we will focus on Halloween and her 3rd birthday! She is so excited for Halloween and even picked her costume herself.

Growing Up Too Fast

A couple weeks ago, Brookie had a fun weekend, because Fernando, Kristin and Penelope came home and we are so exited to have them back. Penelope, Brookie, and Allie have talked about a sleepover the whole summer. Well they invited the little girls to Penelope's house for a sleep over and Brooklyn was so excited.

I was nervous. We had tried to have her sleep at Paola's house a few months ago and she never went to sleep! She was so excited to be there that she fought her sleep and I took her home. I was afraid she would do the same thing.

The girls had the best time. Kristin had a fun dinner out for them, Uncle Doz, put the tent up in their TV room, Kristin bought them their own make up bag with make up, and then she made cookies with.  Mandy also bought the girls matching jammies for this big day that these girls had talked about all summer.

Who would want to sleep right? Well Brookie did the same thing and we ended up picking her up around midnight. The next morning all she wanted to do was play with her make up. She needs a little practice, don't you think?
That afternoon all our girls were in the Dixie Round Up Parade. Since Brooklyn woke up early I wanted her to take a nap so bad. Well I finally got her to take one, but it was only an hour before we had to get ready. She was not happy to have to get up and cried the whole time I curled her hair and dressed her. But once we got there she was excited to see everything and cheered right up.

I was so nervous again, why am I such a paranoid mama? It was so warm and she had her water bottle but I was afraid she wouldn't drink from all the excitement. Our plan was to help get them started watch the beginning of the parade, then drive to the end of the parade to pick them up. I think Dave was more worried than i was because he ended up walking the whole parade to watch them.

When she was done she was so excited and proud of herself. Why is she growing up so fast?

Brooklyn Update - Summer Wrap Up

I cannot belive how much this little girl has changed just since her last update. She is officlly a talker, and we love it. Some of my favorites our:

"Where we going?" - When we are driving anywhere

"I pooped!" - Whenever she toots

"I love you much more." - After you tell her I love you

"Hold on" - When we call her name

"Singing in the shower" - When she's taking a bath

I made her a chore chart to hopefully get her excited to brush her teeth and go potty on her own. She loves it and I love when she says chore chart, but we still have not actually gone in the potty and sometimes we have to hold her down to brush her teeth.

She does NOT like to wear clothes. If you come over she will most likely have a diaper on and only a diaper. If she does have clothes on and has to go #2, she will kindly ask you to help her take her clothes off, because she likes to poop with no clothes and in the corner. Thanks for the warning Brookie. :)

Potty training has been a battle. She thinks that if she sits on the potty and flush then she has gone potty. She gets excited and washes her hands and yells "I go potty". I don't want to make her feel bad, so I will say "you sat on the potty, yay!"

Even though I am ready for summer to be over, I am happy that she has had such a fun summer. I just can't wait for fall. Then we can go out in the middle of the day and water will not be required. But of course she loved swimming and water parks.

I did this little comparison on my instagram account. I can't belive how much she has grown!
Swimming is a must in the summer, even if it's in a small pool in your backyard.

A couple weeks ago we went school shopping with the girls. Emma and Lindsay are starting 6th grade! Wow, they are going to rock. Towards the end of the shopping day, the girls had had it at Kohls. So they found an area with chairs and rested.
Nice Brookie!

But even though they found fun chairs to sit in, Brookie was done before we left.

We painted her toes the other day, and she wanted to put her dress shoes on. She loved it.

Finally we broke down and got her some fish. Well let's just say I broke down, Dave has been wanting to get her some awhile. She loves them, we got her a neon pink and yellow one. She has named them Spongebob and Patrick. Haha

Notice no shirt!

First Library Card.

Dave and I had tried to take Brooklyn to the library back in October to see how she would do. She was kind of a terror and we thought she's not quite ready. Well I decided to give it another try, and she loved it. She was so well behaved and LOVED looking at all the books. She even found a Peppa Pig book all by herself. She screamed when she found it. I had to remind her to whisper. She was so cute, we got her first library card and checked out 9 books. It seems like a lot but that night she sat and listened to almost all of them. This is also a big deal for me because before when I would try to read her one of her books, she would get bored and turn the pages on her own.
