Halloween 2013

AAAANNNDDD I have gotten behind again. Well I just took my last final yesterday and excited to be able focus on the holiday season and my family. So I will be posting a lot to catch up. I know, I know you're excited.

Halloween was great this year. Brooklyn is at a fun age, and made the night so fun. She was so good but even though we practiced saying "Trick or Treat" before the big day she still got shy and didn't say anything. One lady held her bowl out to let Brooklyn pick a piece of candy, and Brooklyn tried to take her whole bowl! What the heck? Who's daughter is that?

But all in all it was a great night. We all met out the same church that we meet at every year. We use to go to this ward and this neighborhood never disappoints so even though we don't live there anymore we continue to go every year.

I was in such a hurry to get out the door that I forgot to light our pumpkins. I quickly got them done, and tried to get a picture of Brookie with them, she was just excited to go.

Notice the poor pumpkin is withering away? We carved them a tad early this year.

We got a couple pictures of the group before we left. Now Allie was a little jealous that Lindsay was a zombie and she was Minnie Mouse, she wanted to be something scary too. So her family got her a scary mask, and she told everyone she was a zombie Minnie Mouse.

Ashley went as a 90's rapper and wore my old New York Knicks jacket. This thing has got to be 20 years old.

Brooklyn wanted to eat each candy as she received them. I tried to keep her focused on trick or treating. She did really well and walked a lot of it herself.

Well we ended in the same spot we always do, here is the crew waiting for the some adults to bring the cars to them.

When we got home Brookie was excited to see her pumpkins again. It was a fun night!

 

Costume Day at Dance

The girls got a fun costume day for dance. They looked adorable!

Pumpkins

This year has been so fun with Brooklyn. Ash and I found a cute Halloween book back in September and I have been reading it to her since. Now she loves yelling "Halloween", whenever she sees anything close to Halloween.

Saturday we took her to the store and let her pick out a pumpkin. She loved it and tried to pick up all of them.

I LOVE that smile!

We invited the family over to carve pumpkins and have taco soup. There were a lot of pumpkins and pumpkin goo but it was so fun. The Miles were sick and we missed them.

Some of us weren't able to finish our pumpkins but we are hoping to have them done by Halloween!

Staheli Farm

Halloween is this week and I am so excited for Brooklyn. She has been practicing saying "Halloween" and "Trick or Treat".

Last weekend we wanted to try Staheli Farms. We had a great coupon and thought it would be fun for the kids. Even though we got there pretty early it was warm for a fall day, Dave and Mandy both ended up with a sunburn. I didn't love the farm, but the kids did.

 

 

 

 

 

Now we paid extra to try out the corn maze. When we got there I saw another family just getting out and I asked them how it was. They said "we had to cheat, it's way elaborate". All I could think was is Brooklyn, Penelope and Allie going to like this?

So we split up the boys and girls and decided who ever gets to the exit first wins. It was so warm but we made it through and the girls won! Honestly we didn't even know we had won and thought we ended up back at the entrance.

And every time we stopped to decide what direction we were going in, Brooky would sit down and play in the sand. She also called the corn bananas.

Penelope stayed close by, she always wanted someone holding her hand.

By the time the boys found us the babies were so tired. As you can see Brooklyn just wanted to hang there for a little bit.

When we got back to the farm we still had the pumpkin patch to go to, but we had two tired babies. So Dave, Brooklyn, Penelope and I went home. They were both asleep before we got out of the parking lot.
